My Town...

 I recently got commissioned to shoot a coffee table book on Scottsdale and the iconic places that make it both traditional and modern. I'm very excited and humble! I love getting up in the morning, grabbing a cup of coffee and heading to my favorite places with my cameras in Old Town, Mccormick Ranch, my favorite resorts and hotels, stores and boutiques, hiking trails...if you have any suggestions please reach out to me and let me know!

My Favorite Photo Apps

Although nothing can compare to my Canon DSLRs, I admit I don't know what I'd do without my iPhone. I've been using Mac since I began photography, so I like researching the cool new photo editing features for Instagram. One of my favorite Apps is PicLab HD which is around $2 and has tons of unique moods and filters to your pics. I use @Over to put text on my photos... that's something I've been liking lately! Also, click here to read an article on some unique photo apps by Creative Blog & click here for an article on iPhone camera apps by Digital Trend. Check out my instagram photos @loveandphoto & @thelovebullet to keep up with me & here are some of my favorite photos from my insta! Big Lips Biggest Fan

Getting home the other day to a FedEx on my door step was exciting. The mysterious Madrid, New Mexico address added to my excitement. I open it to find a lovely hand written note from one of my favorite contemporary artists Nigel Conway and something heavily wrapped in padding and tape that is square and I notice heavier than a book. I carefully opened it with scissors which felt like it took one million minutes because of my excitement... to see one of Nigel's signature big lips painting signed on the back!!!!!! To say I am in love with it and grateful for it would be an understatement! To think, I am thirty years old now and collecting things from traveling and collecting beautiful works of art such as this is special to think it will be treasured by my and a piece of my home forever.
Thank you so much Nigel!

Party for a Cause

Betty's Foundation, a family-run, grassroots non-profit organization that raises money to eradicate Alzheimer's disease, is hosting their annual music benefit concert called Remember the Music. Last year, even though I could not attend, I was honored to donate two Love Bullet necklaces for the silent auction to raise money for this amazing cause. As an artist myself, I truly believe in the healing properties of music and art. Music has power! Especially for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. It can spark compelling outcomes even in the very late stages of the disease. When used appropriately, music can shift mood, manage stress-induced agitation, stimulate positive interactions, facilitate cognitive function and coordinate motor movements. This year's event will be held at the Federal Bar in Long Beach, CA on Sunday, October 19th so get your tickets soon! And look out for the Love Bullet necklaces at the silent auction...just a little hint, I'm not only donating a traditional Bullet necklace, but also a beaded vintage coin necklace that I've been creating lately! When you get there, get your bidding on!

I have shared this video on the Love Bullet blog and I'd like to share it again here because it's so moving and inspirational. Music can help people with a myriad of illnesses and struggles...so please support this event and never stop believing in the power of art therapy!

The strangest thing I've seen today

{The dogs and I came across this strange rock sculpture at Lake Forest beach and they were as curious about it as I was.}
